Winter has now hit and no matter where you are in the country, it’s easy to slack off in the colder months. The excuses are all there for you: “It’s too cold out, fields are frozen, I’m tired from this season and none of my friends or teammates are training so why should I? etc. etc. etc.”

History of Softball

The history of softball spans all the way back to 1887 and began in a way that you wouldn’t expect. The game did not directly derive from the game of baseball, either. The sport that did kickstart its creation? Football. I know, we thought it was weird as well. The story of its roots isn’t that different from what you’d expect. Similar to other creation stories, the original equipment was made from other materials or substitute items.
